Chester was born on December 23rd, 1913.  Chester's father was Charles Bensing and his mother was Elizabeth Bensing.  His paternal grandparents were Joseph Bensing and Eva Seibel (Bensing).  He was the youngest of nine children.  He had three brothers and five sisters, named Raymond, Elmer, Charles, Edna, Aleen, Alberta, Gladys and Elizabeth.
