Joan was born on February 15th, 1952.  Joan's father was Robert Charles Bensing and her mother was Mary Lou Hummel.  Her paternal grandparents were Raymond Bensing and Lenora M Martin; her maternal grandparents were George Hummel and Blanche  Margaret Berkley.  She was an only child.  She died at the age of 54 on May 4th, 2006.

Daniel and Joan were married in a religious ceremony on May 22nd, 1976 in Ithaca, Ny.  They had a son and a daughter, named Christopher and Lindz.
