Helen was born in 1914.  Helen's father was Leo John Boehnen and her mother was Elsa Laura Oberembt.  Her paternal grandparents were William Boehnen and Mary Anne Bowar; her maternal grandparents were Mathias Oberembt and Martha Pollack (Oberembt).  She was the second of three children.  She had a brother and a sister, named Lloyd and Ruth.  She died at the age of 52 in 1966.
