Josephine was born on December 6th, 1868.  Josephine's father was Laurenz Bowar and her mother was Sybilla Schlimgen.  Her paternal grandparents were Franz Bouvard and Catherine Isler; her maternal grandparents were Johann Schlimgen and Christina Schuetz.  She was the eighth of ten children.  She had seven brothers and two sisters, named John, Mathias, Lawrence, Joseph, Charles, Henry, Frank, Mary and Christine.  She died at the age of 70 on October 1st, 1939.
