Sarah was born in 1862.  Sarah's father was Alford S Essex and her mother was Mariah Martin Smith.  Her paternal grandparents were Issac Essex and Susana Neff.  She was the second of four children.  She had a brother and two sisters, named William, Martha and Mary.  She died in Hodgensville, Larue, Kentucky, USA.
