Solomon was born in May 1856.  Solomon's father was Issac Essex and his mother was Susana Neff.  His paternal grandparents were Joseph Essex and Nancy Mcloy; his maternal grandparents were Samuel Neff and <Unknown>.  He was the eleventh of twelve children.  He had five brothers and six sisters, named William, Alford, Thomas, Samuel, James, Lucinda, Luanna, Mary, Sarah, Nancy and Martha.  He died at 2 months old on July 22nd, 1856.
