Alberta was born on August 13th, 1900.  Alberta's father was Charles Bensing and her mother was Elizabeth Bensing.  Her paternal grandparents were Joseph Bensing and Eva Seibel (Bensing).  She was the fifth of nine children.  She had four brothers and four sisters, named Raymond, Elmer, Charles, Chester, Edna, Aleen, Gladys and Elizabeth.
