Elizabeth was born on March 8th, 1858.  Elizabeth's father is Engelbert Schlimgen and her mother is Sarah Trogner.  Her paternal grandparents were Johann Schlimgen and Christina Schuetz.  She is the oldest of eleven children.  She has six brothers and four sisters, named Joseph, Lawrence, John, George, Edward, Ambrose, Anna, Mary, Christina and Mathilda.
