Gertrudis was born on September 19th, 1791 in Bergheim, Prussia.  Gertrudis' father was Joannis Schlimgen and her mother was Eva Zeres.  She was the oldest of five children.  She had a brother and three sisters, named Johann, Christina, Elizabetha and Anna.  She died at the age of 53 on December 22nd, 1844.
