Josephine was born on February 1st, 1865.  Josephine's father was Mathias Schlimgen and her mother was Katharine Elizabeth Schell.  Her paternal grandparents were Johann Schlimgen and Christina Schuetz.  She was the eighth of fourteen children.  She had eight brothers and five sisters, named John, Lawrence, Mathias, Charles, Lawrence, Frank, Augusta, Roman, Anna, Katharina, Katherine, Josephine and Minnie.  She died at the age of 2 on August 27th, 1867.
