Katharina was born on August 9th, 1859.  Katharina's father was Mathias Schlimgen and her mother was Katharine Elizabeth Schell.  Her paternal grandparents were Johann Schlimgen and Christina Schuetz.  She was the fourth of fourteen children.  She had eight brothers and five sisters, named John, Lawrence, Mathias, Charles, Lawrence, Frank, Augusta, Roman, Anna, Katherine, Josephine, Josephine and Minnie.  She died at the age of 2 on November 2nd, 1861.
