Katherine was born on July 25th, 1863.  Katherine's father was Mathias Schlimgen and her mother was Katharine Elizabeth Schell.  Her paternal grandparents were Johann Schlimgen and Christina Schuetz.  She was the seventh of fourteen children.  She had eight brothers and five sisters, named John, Lawrence, Mathias, Charles, Lawrence, Frank, Augusta, Roman, Anna, Katharina, Josephine, Josephine and Minnie.  She died at the age of 35 on July 5th, 1899.

They had four sons and two daughters, named Frederick, Amelia, Albert, Josephine, Joseph and Herbert.

Male Frederick Carl Fergen
Frederick was born on August 14th, 1885.

Female Amelia Margaret Fergen
Amelia was born on May 13th, 1887.  She died at the age of 66 on April 6th, 1954.

Male Albert Jacob Fergen
Albert was born on October 22nd, 1888.

Female Josephine Florentine Fergen
Josephine was born on April 18th, 1890.  She died at the age of 53 on November 12th, 1943.

Male Joseph John Fergen Jr
Joseph was born on May 7th, 1892.  He died at the age of 79 on February 11th, 1972.

Male Herbert John Fergen
Herbert was born in 1899.  He died at the age of 2 in 1901.
