Lawrence was born on October 26th, 1898.  Lawrence's father was Lawrence J.  Schlimgen Sr and his mother was Kristina Wermers.  His paternal grandparents were Mathias Schlimgen and Katharine Elizabeth Schell.  He was the fifth of eight children.  He had four brothers and three sisters, named Albert, Otto, Louis, Rudolph, Mary, Augusta and Regina.  He died at the age of 81 on February 28th, 1980.
