Leo was born on December 23rd, 1896.  Leo's father was Mathias John Schlimgen and his mother was Appolina M Fischer.  His paternal grandparents were Mathias Schlimgen and Katharine Elizabeth Schell.  He was the seventh of ten children.  He had five brothers and four sisters, named Frank, Mathias, Roman, Joseph, Leonard, Bertha, Katharina, Wilhelmina and Josephine.  He died at the age of 33 on September 5th, 1930.
