Mary was born on August 14th, 1896.  Mary's father was Lawrence J.  Schlimgen Sr and her mother was Kristina Wermers.  Her paternal grandparents were Mathias Schlimgen and Katharine Elizabeth Schell.  She was the fourth of eight children.  She had five brothers and two sisters, named Albert, Otto, Louis, Lawrence, Rudolph, Augusta and Regina.  She died at the age of 93 on October 28th, 1989.
