Mathias was born on August 9th, 1859.  Mathias' father was Mathias Schlimgen and his mother was Katharine Elizabeth Schell.  His paternal grandparents were Johann Schlimgen and Christina Schuetz.  He was the fifth of fourteen children.  He had seven brothers and six sisters, named John, Lawrence, Charles, Lawrence, Frank, Augusta, Roman, Anna, Katharina, Katherine, Josephine, Josephine and Minnie.  He died at the age of 46 on October 6th, 1905.

They had six sons and four daughters, named Bertha, Frank, Mathias, Katharina, Roman, Wilhelmina, Leo, Josephine, Joseph and Leonard.

Female Bertha Katharina Schlimgen
Bertha was born on April 23rd, 1885.  She died at the age of 50 on November 1st, 1935.

Male Frank Sigmund Schlimgen
Frank was born on December 12th, 1886.  He died at the age of 37 on December 9th, 1924.

Male Mathias Lawrence Schlimgen
Mathias was born on January 12th, 1889.  He died at the age of 27 on April 9th, 1916.

Female Katharina Pauline Schlimgen
Katharina was born on October 7th, 1890.  She died at the age of 73 on November 24th, 1963.

Male Roman A Schlimgen
Roman was born on December 23rd, 1892.  He died at the age of 18 on November 23rd, 1911.

Female Wilhelmina M Schlimgen
Wilhelmina was born on January 31st, 1895.  She died at the age of 50 on May 13th, 1945.

Male Leo Carl Schlimgen
Leo was born on December 23rd, 1896.  He died at the age of 33 on September 5th, 1930.

Female Josephine Frances Schlimgen
Josephine was born on November 25th, 1898.  She died at the age of 62 on October 6th, 1961.

Male Joseph Hubert Schlimgen
Joseph was born on July 28th, 1901.  He died at the age of 87 on March 28th, 1989.

Male Leonard John Schlimgen
Leonard was born on November 23rd, 1903.  He died at 9 months old on September 17th, 1904.
