Roman was born on December 23rd, 1892.  Roman's father was Mathias John Schlimgen and his mother was Appolina M Fischer.  His paternal grandparents were Mathias Schlimgen and Katharine Elizabeth Schell.  He was the fifth of ten children.  He had five brothers and four sisters, named Frank, Mathias, Leo, Joseph, Leonard, Bertha, Katharina, Wilhelmina and Josephine.  He died at the age of 18 on November 23rd, 1911.
