William was born on February 2nd, 1867.  William's father is John Schlimgen and his mother is Amanda Josephine Heppner.  His paternal grandparents were Johann Schlimgen and Margaretha Jansen.  He is the oldest of six children.  He had two brothers and three sisters, named Frederick, John, Louise, Bertha and Mary.
