Eva was born in 1871.  Eva's father was Mathias Schmitz and her mother was Elisabeth (Louisa) Schlimgen.  Her maternal grandparents were Johann Schlimgen and Margaretha Jansen.  She was the oldest of four children.  She had a brother and two sisters, named Frank, Louise and Josephine.  She died at the age of 64 in 1935.
