Frank was born in 1874.  Frank's father was Mathias Schmitz and his mother was Elisabeth (Louisa) Schlimgen.  His maternal grandparents were Johann Schlimgen and Margaretha Jansen.  He was the youngest of four children.  He had three sisters named Eva, Josephine and Louise.  He died at the age of 78 in 1952.
