Henry was born on February 17th, 1866 in New York City, New York, USA.  Henry's father was Nicholas Seyler and his mother was Elizabeth Ecklin.  His paternal grandparents were Nicholas Seyler and Wilhelmina nee Schilb; his maternal grandparents were Andreas Ecklin and Elizabeth Schrode.  He was the oldest of five children.  He had three brothers and a sister, named Edward, Frederich, Will and Christina.  He died at the age of 80 on February 1st, 1947 in St Joseph, [county], Missouri, USA.
